I wanted to share a story of Mr. Raj Kapoor, Whom I hired around 7 years back who was new to the industry. His dream job was a recruiter, but he doesn’t know where to start and what is the process for this.

He has done his M.B.A in Human resources from University of Mumbai. When he received his degree, he started searching for a job. He has checked many “job searching” websites like dimensionshrd.com to find a better job. Finally, he got the job and he started working with us his job was to headhunt the candidates for senior roles.

Raj was invited to an interview, questioned about his education and personal background and taken on board for a trial period.

He spent countless hours researching candidates and clients to call. Through social media channels, Mr. Raj Kapoor discussed the future of work and the job market. He met with recruiters and hiring managers he found himself considering a career in recruitment more and more.

That was his first job or Mr. Raj Kapoor. So, he was struggling to fill a particularly tough position in the banking and financial sector.

Candidates would show more of an interest in the position if he made them realize how important it was for the company. If they knew about the history of the company, they might find the story or inspiring. Raj needed to tell the story of that company.

Raj researched the company, Looking through “About Us” pages, LinkedIn Profiles and online interviews. He discovered witty employees, an interesting backstory and an optimistic future. As a literature major, storytelling came naturally to him, so it wasn’t difficult to transform the job offers into job dreams.

His message was inspiring. Candidates no longer applying to a BFSI they were offering their services to shape the future of employment. Without them, the entire recruitment industry could fail. “If you choose to accept this mission, the fate of recruitment media rests on your shoulders.

Thanks to his own expertise, he knew exactly where to post the job description and how to share it on social media. He didn’t have long to wonder before applications started coming in. Finance from all over the world wanted to learn more about working for that company; they wanted to meet their future colleagues in India. Mr. Raj Kapoor had done it! He had found a way to attract interesting candidates.

Raj went on to become a successful recruiter. Everyone in the industry knows Raj. His storytelling techniques are used by many and he teaches his team to use narrative to create a bond between the candidates and the clients of the candidate and the company, multimedia and text are used to build a brand, which candidates relate to and respect.
